Accepting these terms

By using Shakomako you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

What Shakomako is — and what it is not

Shakomako is a place to advertise and find property in Iraq. We are an advertising platform and nothing more.

We do not own, sell, let, value or inspect any property listed here. We are not an estate agent, a broker or a party to any transaction. Every listing is created by the agency or agent that publishes it, and they are responsible for it.

We do not verify that a listing is accurate, that a property exists, that its price is fair, or that whoever advertises it has the right to. Satisfy yourself independently, and take professional advice, before you pay anyone anything.

Your account

• Give us a phone number you actually control, and keep your details current.
• Keep your password to yourself. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
• Tell us at [email protected] straight away if you think someone else has got into your account.

If you advertise property

Extra obligations apply if you list on Shakomako.

• Only advertise property you are authorised to advertise.
• Describe it honestly. Prices, sizes and locations must be real, and photographs must be of the property advertised.
• Keep listings current, and mark them sold, rented or unavailable when they are.
• Follow the law that applies to you, including any Iraqi rules on advertising property.
• Your agency is responsible for what its agents publish.

Content you upload

You keep ownership of your photographs, video and text. By uploading them you give us permission to store them and to display them on Shakomako and in material promoting the platform, for as long as the listing is on it.

Only upload material you have the right to use. Do not upload anyone else's photographs without permission.

Things you must not do

• Post anything false, misleading or fraudulent.
• Post anything unlawful, abusive, or that discriminates against anyone.
• Impersonate anyone, or claim a connection to an agency you have no connection to.
• Scrape, copy or bulk-extract listings, or attempt to break, overload or work around the security of the service.
• Use anyone's contact details from Shakomako to send unsolicited marketing.

Availability

We aim to keep Shakomako running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, and we may do so without notice where we have to.

Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to limit.

Beyond that, we are not responsible for any dealing between you and an agency or another user, for the accuracy of any listing, or for loss of profit, business or data. Shakomako is provided as it is.

Ending it

You may close your account at any time by writing to [email protected]. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently. Where we can, we will explain why.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction. This does not remove any protection you have under the law of the country you live in.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date below shows when they last changed, and continuing to use Shakomako after a change means you accept it.
